first Shanti sit

I sat for 20 minutes today noticing my breath, Atman (self) at the top of the inhale, Brahman (universe) on the exhale. Shanti writes the breath is closer to self than the body. Noticing the body, I felt connected to my Kundalini Yoga practice (which I practiced heavily for 5 years though not in a year). I also became aware of the blocks and limitations, created by my mind to reside in my physical/energetic body. It gave me insight to the purpose of Shanti’s full body of teachings, excited to read more.

After my sit, I cracked open a book an after a sentence became daunted and overwhelmed. This is going to take a while…
